Power Friday – Week 13
Yes, it’s been a few weeks since an update (thanks a lot, hackers!).
In the last update,, I mentioned that I’d announce what powerlifting meet I would be competing in. That didn’t happen. As of now, I’m planning on July 10th at the USAPL Summer Power Fest in Spring, TX.
From this point, that gives me five more weeks to train.
Speaking of training, the change from the 5X5 routine to the 3X5 routine has really been a good step. One other thing that I did was to change my workouts from three days per week to two days per week. Three days of heavy squats was killing my knees.
At present, I am doing the same workout I was doing in the beginning – only with fewer reps, and one less day per week. Wanting to still be doing more than two sessions per week, I am adding two days of cardio work. One day will be HIIT, and the other LISS. These will either be on the treadmill, or the. Who knows, I may even break out the jump rope occasionally.
